About the Authors:

Wilma Rugh Taylor, retired after forty years as a high school and college teacher and journalist, is a freelance writer and editor. Her book The valley of the Blue Heron (1995) won the National Federation of Press Women writing competition. Steeped in Baptist history and theology from her childhood by her mother and grandfather, as a young women she was sent by the American Baptist Convention to many of the same states and churches visited by the chapel cars.
Wilma passed away on January 6, 2018. Obituary

Norman Thomas Taylor was seventeen when he walked into the Beech Grove, Indiana, shops of the New York Central Railroad. When he walked out in 1995 with over forty years of railroad experience, he walked into the world of railroad church cars and researching for this book. He is currently restoring Baptist Chapel Car #7, Grace, at Green Lake, Wisconsin.
Norman passed away on July 17, 2007. Obituary
